'Tis the Season

Merry Christmas Book Clubbers! Thank you Crystal for hosting our December book club. You were a gracious hostess, and we also appreciate Andrew being our professional photographer for the evening.

So, the book.......again I enjoy how passionate people are with some of our book choices. I also love that not everyone is passionate for the same reasons......I mean what fun would it be if we all agreed on everything and saw life through the same lens? I know I said this to a few, but I think it bears repeating: Book Club is not about whether you love or hate the books, Book Club is about the discussions!

Thank you Crystal for a well written choice from a great author! If any of you have not read Lovely Bones from the same author, I would highly recommend it. Although, I will warn you ahead of time that it is not warm and fuzzy!

Just a reminder that our date for January has changed from January 8th to January 15th. January will be held at Lisa Odai's home. She is in the process of changing her book choice. I will update you as soon as the decision has been made.

Until January.......eat, drink, read, and be merry!

Missing a Few.....

Thank you Kimberly for hosting our November book club. Although we were missing quite a few members of our group, it was still a great evening of scrumptious food and thoughtful discussion. The book pick was quite interesting, and it looks like we may have many a critic among us (wink-wink). I was pleased though that even when the conversation veered, we continued to come back to the book at hand. After all, this is what a book club is all about! I also think after this evening, we may have laid The Shack to a final rest, wouldn't you all agree? It is however, definitely a book worth passing on to a friend or family member, as some of you mentioned last night that you had already done.

Hopefully, our complete group will gather together for our holiday book club next month at Crystal's. Until then remixers....... buy your book, run a bath, drink a glass of wine, and lose yourself in the fictional world of The Almost Moon.

A Success!!

Wow! Wow! Seriously. The discussion last night was so lively and interesting. I was very intrigued with everyone's ideas and beliefs, that at times it was enough just to sit back and soak it all in. Thank you all for being willing to step out of your comfort zone and share your thoughts and ideas about a subject that is sometimes so personal. I admire people who are so passionate about what they believe, I connect with people who are still looking for answers, and I respect those of you who just question it all. I look forward to learning more about each and every one of you and cannot wait until next month!
